Check Out the Exquisite Hyundai Sonata
The new model year brings a major refresh for the Hyundai Sonata. It has long been one of the best-selling midsize sedans in America, and the refreshed design combines a sporty and luxurious look with ultra-futuristic elements that'll make the new Sonata one of the most unique rides on the highway. If you want to buy an exquisite sedan that's worth the excitement, talk to our team at Perry Hyundai about the new Hyundai Sonata.
What's New?
Aside from the visual remake of the Sonata, the big item for the new model year is an all-wheel drive Sonata for the first time. It is an option for higher trims, but the introduction of all-wheel drive is sure to add some appeal for drivers who expect to be driving through snow this winter.
Hyundai has also trimmed down the engine options. While the long-standing 2.5-liter motor sticks around, the 1.6-liter engine with a turbocharger is gone. Instead, the 2.5-liter setup will be available on the N-Line trim with a turbocharger for a sportier experience.
Exterior
This is where the refresh makes its mark. The exterior of the new Hyundai Sonata continues the company's recent trend toward aggressive and imaginative designs. The front end of the new version has a large grille and air dam combination that reaches the vehicle's bottom. It has angular features and a geometric design that evokes high-end European supercars. Combined with the single and always-on LED headlamp that stretches the whole way from side to side, the design makes the Sonata look like nothing else on the roads of Henderson, Texas. A second set of more traditional headlamps is below that to provide high and low beams.
The new Sonata's profile is a sporty take on the traditional sedan. It features black trim against the body color for a chic appearance. Especially when paired with the optional panoramic sunroof, this gives the Sonata a sharp look.
Interior
Hyundai's design transformation for the Sonata extends to the interior. The dash features straight lines and contrasting trim colors for a highly futuristic appearance. It also combines the digital instrument cluster with the infotainment display for a unified visual experience. Silver accents adorn key features like the knobs for the climate controls.
Bucket-style seats hold passengers snugly in place as you travel through Carthage. A sport-inspired seating style is also available for the N-Line trim. The seating material options include cloth, premium cloth and leather.
Performance
The 2.5-liter engine that's standard on the Sonata delivers 191 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque. The Sonata N Line has a special turbocharged 2.5-liter powertrain that can provide Rusk, Texas drivers with up to 290 horsepower.
The Sonata's standard configuration is a front-wheel drive with an eight-speed automatic transmission, but, for the first time, all-wheel drive is also available. You can expect to drive around 33 mpg in a new Sonata, with an only slightly lower fuel economy for all-wheel-drive Sonatas.
Technology
Both 10.3- and 12.3-inch touchscreen displays are available depending on your choice of trim. Both versions include Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto™ and SiriusXM®. The audio system is a standard six-speaker setup, but Center, Texas shoppers can also upgrade to a 12-speaker Bose®. You also can upgrade the various driver-assist systems in the Sonata with a semi-autonomous driving system.
Trims
The Sonata follows Hyundai's normal lineup with the SE as the base package and the SEL as the initial comfort upgrade. The SEL Plus is the best option if you want some nicer features at a good price, but the Limited is the most premium Sonata trim. However, the N Line is the sportiest version of the Sonata, offering Lufkin shoppers a 290-horsepower engine.
